BRC Club Container Café and Outdoor Kitchen

The BRC Club in Havelock Town, Sri Lanka now features a professional kitchenette and container café designed and built by Hybrid Cargotecture Development.

This container conversion was developed for Celebrity Chef Lloyd Opatha to provide a practical food-preparation and customer-service space for club members and guests.

A Compact Commercial Food-Service Space

HCD converted the container into a fully functional outdoor kitchen and café with a layout planned around food preparation, storage and customer service. The completed unit provides a structured working environment within a compact footprint.

Large openings allow natural light into the unit while supporting convenient access and customer interaction. The exterior retains the recognisable container character while presenting a clean commercial appearance suitable for the BRC Club environment.

Designed for the BRC Club Environment

The project demonstrates how a shipping container can be converted into a practical commercial kitchen without requiring a large conventional building. The unit was manufactured by HCD and prepared for installation at the BRC Club premises in Havelock Town.

The completed café combines container strength, efficient space planning and durable finishes within a distinctive customer-facing structure.
