The exterior

The space begins before you step inside.

The 20 × 6 ft deck gives the capsule house an outdoor area of its own. Steps lead to the glazed entrance while the projecting canopy provides cover above the deck.

Picture a chair here, a morning coffee and time to enjoy the surroundings. Rounded corners soften the building’s profile while charcoal walls and black frames create a consistent exterior.

The canopy’s steel grid adds a defining detail above the outdoor space.

The interior

Step inside. The essentials are already in place.

Within its 24 × 9 ft footprint, the Grand Capsule combines a bedroom, seating area, pantry and bathroom. The layout is designed primarily for two occupants.

The project brief also allowed for up to eight people during daytime visits or overnight stays with additional sleeping arrangements. This does not represent eight permanent beds in the standard layout.

The interior uses HCD’s Hybrid cement construction type with durable luxury vinyl wood planks underfoot. HCD supplied the bed, wardrobe, cupboards, sofa and TV unit as part of the furnished fit-out.

Everyday comfort

A comfortable place to spend time.

Insulation and air conditioning form part of the capsule’s comfort provisions. Glazed openings bring daylight inside while opening windows provide ventilation.

The furnished indoor space and covered deck offer different places to spend time throughout the day, whether relaxing inside or sitting outdoors.

Delivery & handover

Delivered fully fitted. Handed over complete.

HCD transported the Grand Capsule fully fitted to Mr. Viraj’s property in Lunugamvehera. Installation and handover are complete with the furnishings and facilities supplied as part of the project.

Mr. Viraj expressed exceptional satisfaction with the finished result.
