HCD™ ONE BEDROOM HYBRID VILLA

A modern one bedroom hybrid home concept with a private bedroom, bathroom, open living and dining area, pantry and covered outdoor living space.

Designed for people who want a compact home with a stronger connection between the interior and garden, this layout works equally well as a permanent residence, holiday villa or private resort chalet.

THE CONCEPT

Compact One Bedroom House with Outdoor Living

This HCD concept combines a practical one bedroom house design with an open living arrangement and covered front outdoor area to create a home that feels larger than its internal footprint.

The bedroom and private bathroom occupy one section of the layout while the living, dining and pantry areas form the main social space. Large aluminium openings help connect the interior with the veranda and surrounding garden.

1 Bedroom Private sleeping area
1 Bathroom Integrated private bathroom
Living + Dining Open-plan central living area
Covered Veranda Extended outdoor living space
DESIGNED FOR MODERN LIVING

A Small House That Does Not Feel Confined

01

Private Bedroom

A dedicated bedroom provides privacy and separation from the main living and entertaining areas.

02

Open Living & Dining

Combining the living and dining functions keeps circulation simple and helps make better use of the available floor area.

03

Practical Pantry

The pantry is positioned within the main living zone for convenient everyday use without dominating the interior.

04

Private Bathroom

The bathroom sits adjacent to the bedroom to create a compact and practical residential arrangement.

05

Large Sliding Openings

Wide aluminium sliding windows and doors introduce natural light, ventilation and views of the surrounding landscape.

06

Covered Outdoor Area

The front veranda extends the usable living area outside and makes the design particularly suitable for Sri Lanka's tropical setting.

INDOOR + OUTDOOR

Designed Around Tropical Living

One of the strongest features of this house design is the relationship between the indoor living area and the covered outdoor space.

Large openings allow the living and dining area to visually extend toward the veranda and garden. This can create a much more open atmosphere than the internal floor area alone would suggest.

For a holiday villa or resort setting, the veranda can accommodate outdoor seating while landscaping can provide additional privacy between individual units.

ONE PLAN. MULTIPLE USES.

Built for Homes, Villas & Holiday Accommodation

Compact Permanent Home

A practical residential solution for an individual or couple looking for an efficiently planned one bedroom home.

Holiday Villa

The covered veranda and garden-oriented design make this concept particularly suitable for private holiday properties.

Resort Chalet

Multiple units can be arranged within a landscaped property to create individual guest chalets or boutique resort accommodation.

Rental Accommodation

The independent one bedroom configuration can also be considered for rental villas and serviced accommodation developments.

CUSTOM DESIGN

Make the Concept Suit Your Property

HCD plans can be developed according to the actual land, orientation, required finish and intended use rather than treating the published drawing as a fixed package.

Exterior Appearance

Select container corrugation, architectural cladding, colour schemes or a combination of finishes to create the required appearance.

Roof Design

Roof profiles, overhangs, covered verandas and entrance areas can be developed according to the architectural concept.

Windows & Glass

Sliding windows, full-height glass, entrance doors and fixed glazing can be positioned according to views, ventilation and privacy.

Interior Finishes

Flooring, ceilings, wall finishes, lighting and cabinetry can be selected according to the preferred interior style.

Decks & Landscaping

Outdoor decks, garden seating and landscaped areas can turn the compact building into a complete residential or hospitality setting.

SMALL HOUSE DESIGN SRI LANKA

A Modern Alternative for Building a Small House

If you are researching a small house design in Sri Lanka, the most important consideration is not simply how small the building can be. It is how effectively the available area can be used.

This concept brings together a private bedroom, bathroom, living and dining area, pantry and outdoor living space within a compact modular design.

For projects where faster fabrication, efficient use of land and flexibility are important, prefab and hybrid modular homes in Sri Lanka can provide an alternative approach to conventional construction.

HYBRID CONTAINER HOMES

More Than a Shipping Container Conversion

An HCD hybrid home is developed as a complete building rather than simply placing a modified shipping container on a property.

The design process considers structure, insulation, ventilation, electrical services, plumbing, roofing, doors, glazing, interior finishing and the relationship between the building and its site.

Depending on the project, HCD can develop container homes, prefab houses, hybrid modular buildings and steel-supported structures to suit different requirements.
